1. See a problem
2. Why is it a problem? What are your reasons?
3. Think of a fix-it idea!
The work they have been doing this week will support them as they begin to write persuasive pieces. While they developed independent pieces at the beginning of the week, we wrote a collaborative piece at the end of the week. They voted to write about the trash we have found on our playground, because trash on the playground is a big problem! Together we practiced providing more than one reason, the more reasons you give the more persuasive you will be.
1. We love our little playground, but we have found lots of trash!
2. Trash on the little playground is a problem, because it hurts everything. The plants and the animals.
4. We think we need a trash can and helpful posters to keep our space clean. What do you think?
