A special visit from Ms. Lewis and Lizzie was the highlight of our day. During the read aloud, Ms. Lewis asked if the children had a prediction, and Lizzie let out a little bark - she was engaging in our book conversation!

a special visit
On Monday Ms. Lewis and Lizzie visited our classroom. The children greeted Lizzie with open arms, petting her gently and resting their heads upon her. Following their warm welcome, Ms. Lewis read a favorite storybook; Harry the Dirty Dog. We have been rereading favorite storybooks to gain a deeper understanding about characters, develop rich vocabulary, and follow the sequence and structure of a story. We have engaged in many conversations about the differences between storybooks (fiction) and teaching books (non-fiction).
